Linear

Connect Linear so assigned issues, cycles, and project work show up in planning, standups, summaries, and inline issue editing.

If Linear stays as the execution source, we add roadmap context, recaps, standups, reporting, and AI handoff around the issues your team already manages there.

Set up Linear

Open Linear integration settings and authorize the connection with your Linear account. After the OAuth flow completes, the dashboard stores the connection and uses your Linear user for issue attribution.

Review the Linear projects in integration settings after connecting. Linear teams appear as Projects in the dashboard. Keep a project enabled when its issues should appear in planning and updates; toggle it off when that team should stay out of the workspace.

Connect with a Linear admin account when you want real-time issue sync. If the connected user is not a Linear admin, webhook setup is skipped and the workspace shows a notice asking a Linear admin to connect.

What Linear adds

Linear issues can appear in recap, planning, issue lists, triage, and boards. Issue context can also help AI derive completed work from commits, pull requests, comments, and other captured activity.

Assigned Linear issues appear in Planned when they are in active cycles, are not completed, cancelled, or blocked, and have recent activity. This keeps stale issue tracker work out of daily planning and standups.

Inline issue work

Open a Linear issue from the workspace to edit title, description, status, priority, and assignees without switching tools. Changes stay synchronized with Linear.

Status and priority options come from your Linear team configuration. For public teams, assignee choices can include workspace members. For private teams, assignee choices are limited to members of that team.

Linear issues are fetched when you open the view, then cached. Refresh the recap or issue list when you need the latest source state.

Permissions

Linear uses OAuth. The connection needs access to read issue, project, team, and user data, and to update issue fields when you edit Linear issues from the workspace.

The integration follows the access of the connected Linear account. If that account cannot see a Linear team or issue, the workspace cannot use it either.

Already using Linear?

Linear is useful when issue status needs to inform daily plans, standups, blocker views, and team boards.

Linear pairs with Triage, Boards, and Standups. If the team later wants this workspace to own more planning, move planned work into Initiatives first and migrate issue-level execution only where it helps. For completed-work behavior, see Captured Work.
