Choose an update
Progress updates should come from current work, connected app activity, comments, meetings, and roadmap state.
Choose the update format by audience and cadence. Daily team routines need different detail than a weekly stakeholder update or a release note.
Update formats
| Update | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Recaps | Reviewing recent completed, planned, and blocked work. |
| Standups | Running team check-ins from live work data. |
| Slack Standups | Collecting async updates in Slack. |
| Google Meet | Running the standup view inside a live Meet call. |
| Release Notes | Turning shipped work into customer or internal release narratives. |
| Handoff Notes | Preserving context when work moves between people, teams, or time away. |
| Stakeholder Updates | Translating delivery into status, risks, and next steps. |
Review before sharing
Generated updates summarize the workspace data available at that moment. Before sharing, check the update against the underlying initiatives, bugs, pull requests, completed tasks, and blockers so stale status or missing context does not get copied forward.
