Stakeholder Updates
Stakeholder updates translate delivery activity into status, risks, and next steps for people who need the outcome more than every implementation detail.
Answer the right questions
A stakeholder update should help the reader understand the outcome, risk, and next decision. It usually answers:
- What changed since the last update?
- Which goals, customers, products, or releases are affected?
- What is blocked or at risk?
- What happens next?
- Where can the reader inspect the work if they need detail?
Use the right level
Engineering teams may need task and pull request links. Executives usually need initiative status, risk, progress, and next decision. Customers need shipped value and product impact.
Use Roadmap Progress and Release Notes as source material for higher-level updates.
