Ongoing work tracks streams that never finish, such as security reviews, documentation upkeep, or design QA, without creating a new initiative every cycle.

Set up ongoing work

Ongoing work lives on the roadmap next to initiatives and has the same fields: owner, teams, assignees, status, child items, and taxonomy. Convert an initiative to ongoing work from the roadmap when it turns out to have no finish line. You can convert it back the same way.

The roadmap can show initiatives only, ongoing work only, or both.

Initiative or ongoing work?

Choose an initiative when the work has a defined outcome and an end. Choose ongoing work when the same stream continues across cycles, especially when several disciplines such as engineering, design, and support contribute to it over time.
