Execute steps, broader ACP support, and reliable recovery

August 30, 2026

Highlights:

  • Execute steps for deterministic workflow commands
  • Plan, Code, Review, and Research support for ACP runtimes
  • Inline workflow recovery actions
  • Document filtering, type badges, and bulk actions

This week gives workflows a deterministic Execute step alongside agent-driven work. ACP runtimes can take on more task modes, and stalled runs now explain what happened and offer the right recovery action in context.

Execute commands as a workflow step

Add an Execute step when a workflow needs to run a configured command without asking an agent to reason about it. It fits between agent steps, uses the same run history, and reports its output and terminal result with the rest of the workflow.

ACP agents across the workflow

Mistral Vibe and compatible ACP runtimes now support Plan, Code, Review, and Research, including One Horizon tools, MCP access, image attachments, and task-mode instructions. Activity streams focus on useful progress instead of repeating provider protocol noise.

Recovery that stays with the affected step

When a workflow stalls, fails, reaches a pass limit, or needs input, the message and available actions now appear inside the affected step. Continue, Retry, Restore, and Skip step are shown only when the current workflow state supports them.

Work Inbox notifications use the same recovery contract, include the agent's question when input is needed, and link back to the affected run.

A cleaner Documents overview

Documents now show their type, can be filtered by type, and support selection for bulk actions. Plan and Review artifacts stay out of the default library view unless you choose to include them.

Improved

  • Research can be started directly from a task or initiative menu
  • Agent details show which workflows and steps use that agent
  • Image previews include previous and next controls when a page contains several images
  • Dashboard plan limits use the same entitlement source as billing and backend enforcement
  • Billing settings show the workspace's plan and account relationship when rollout is enabled

Fixes

  • Workflow retry starts a real new attempt instead of creating repeated dead sessions
  • Review approval remains approved when document finalization needs recovery
  • Runtime catalog upgrades no longer strand existing local workers
  • Desktop and CLI workers survive routine version checks without being stopped
  • Valid C2PA-tagged PNG attachments are accepted as images
  • Google Calendar can be connected during first-time setup
  • Pass-limit recovery preserves the stall reason and keeps Continue available
  • Direct review feedback can be handed to another agent
