Desktop tabs, model selection, and visual agent context
Highlights:
- Workspace-aware tabs in the Desktop app
- Runtime-provided model and reasoning choices
- Private image attachments delivered to agents
- Dynamic Review assignments
This week makes Desktop better for multi-workspace work and gives local agents richer context. Model choices now come from the runtime that will do the work, while screenshots and other private images can reach supported agents safely.
Tabs in Desktop
Open tasks, initiatives, workflows, and settings in separate Desktop tabs. Tabs keep their workspace context, restore after relaunch, and show the icon for the page they contain.
Desktop stays in the background when a queued local worker starts, so agent activity no longer interrupts what you are doing.
Models reported by the runtime
Agent settings can request the model and reasoning-effort catalog from an online worker. The picker reflects what that installed runtime supports, with Default available when you want the runtime to use its own configuration.
Images reach the agent doing the work
Private image attachments from tasks and comments are delivered to supported agent runtimes with short-lived access. The same validation rules now protect images opened in Dashboard and downloaded by local workers.
Review assignments can be started dynamically like Research, without requiring a preconfigured workflow. Agent profiles also prevent incompatible runtime combinations before work is queued.
Improved
- Awaiting Input is stored as a durable workflow pause and resumes from the same context
- Fallback routing explains when no compatible agent is available
- Worker and workflow errors preserve the original provider failure reason
- Agent session activity is parsed and rendered consistently across runtimes
- Dashboard hides or disables plan-limited features using the same entitlement rules as the backend
Fixes
- Custom runtime icons remain available to other workspace members
- Retrying a stopped coding workflow cleans up leftover generated files safely
- Desktop no longer moves itself to the foreground when background work starts
- Fallback exhaustion no longer replaces the agent's real error with a generic message
- Claude receives private visual attachments instead of silently skipping them
