Workspace billing, agent fallback, and Desktop recovery

August 16, 2026

Highlights:

  • Workspace billing and subscription management
  • Prioritized fallback agents and runtime switching
  • Desktop controls for retained worktrees
  • Summaries included with workflow artifacts

This week adds the product surfaces behind workspace billing and gives agent workflows more resilient routing. Desktop also makes retained worktrees visible and recoverable when a local run cannot clean up automatically.

Billing from workspace settings

Workspace owners can view their plan, start an upgrade, and open the Stripe Customer Portal from Dashboard settings when billing is enabled for their workspace. Billing accounts can cover multiple workspaces, while seat counts and product access come from the workspace's resolved entitlements.

The rollout remains controlled during beta so existing workspaces are not changed unexpectedly. Broader enforcement stays behind the billing rollout flag.

Fallback agents for interrupted work

Workflow steps can use an ordered list of compatible agents. If the preferred worker cannot take the job, One Horizon can continue with the next eligible choice without changing the workflow definition.

Desktop and CLI now refresh runtime availability before assignment, and local workers can switch supported runtimes without being recreated.

Recover local work from Desktop

Desktop now shows retained workflow checkouts and offers explicit restore, retry, or cleanup controls. Recovery explains why a worktree was kept before offering a destructive action.

Workflow artifacts also include a short summary, making Plan, Review, and Research results easier to scan from task and run details.

Improved

  • Agent instructions reflect the current workflow stage without exposing internal identifiers
  • Bundled Codex compatibility is checked against real worker behavior before an upgrade ships
  • Pull request creation warnings wait for the final workflow outcome
  • Artifact breadcrumbs distinguish workflow output from ordinary workspace documents

Fixes

  • Continue recovers when a previous worker claim has gone stale
  • Child initiatives can be created from every supported roadmap view
  • Workflow run progress uses the correct completed-step count
  • CLI worktree actions return instead of waiting indefinitely
  • Workspace tools remain available during unattended Claude runs
